It’s been a good year for the 2017 BMW M2. Not only is this its first year in production, and the first year we’ve carried it at our Paramus BMW dealer, but it has also been named to Car and Driver’s prestigious 10best list. That’s the third year in a row that a BMW 2 Series model has been included in the annual awards, which have been running for nearly three decades. In addition to the award won by the 2017 M2, the BMW X1 earned the first ever 10best Truck and SUV award in the Subcompact Luxury SUV category.
It was with the help of a performance model that the 2017 BMW M2 earned this distinction. When properly equipped, the 3.0L V6 engine under the hood of the 2017 M2 churns out up to 365-horsepower and 343 lb.-ft of torque. It can be paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed Dual Clutch transmission. In case the figures above didn’t tip you off, this model was not meant to take it easy.
