There is a very important decision to be made when purchasing your new car, 2 doors or 4 doors? Regardless of car brand the consumer always has their preference even though it may not support their lifestyle. I have had the luxury of having 7 cars, 4 coupes and 3 sedans. I have more than enough experience with having 2 doors and 4 doors so here is my input:
Sedans (typically):
- Typically have more space (Leg room, head room, body room, etc.)
- 4 Doors - Easy access to the back seat for passengers
- Driver/Passenger do not have to get out to let poeple in (Huge benefit in the rain/snow)
- Taller Roofline (compliments rear passenger space)
Why Sedan?
- Family - You can easily put your kids in the backseat with minimal effort.
- Friends - If you are that person (like me) that always drives your friends around you do not want to be caught doing the "back seat shuffle." This tends to happen everytime putting friends in a coupe and it goes like this: You pull up to get your friends, you have to get out of the car, swing the back of your seat forward and move it up, let passengers in, put the seat back, get back in, adjust your seat so passengers have legroom, etc. Anyone that owns a coupe and says this doesn't bother them needs to take a lie detector test.
Coupes (typically):
- Tighter cabin (less space)
- 2 door - Access for driver and passenger only
- Aggressive/Sporty appearance
- Cut roofline - Less headroom in the back seats but looks great
- Convertibles!
Why Coupe?
- "Me Car not a We Car" - These cars are best enjoyed when you don't have to worry about passengers.
- They look stunning when compared to their sedan counterparts.
- When looking at the 2016 model lineup of every brand, convertibles are only available in coupe model except for one. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
At the end of the day the choice is yours! You can go with this or......

You can go with that.
