This coming Spring we expect to see some minor changes to both the X3 and X4 Sport Activity Vehicles, as well as the full lineup of 6 Series vehicles. Although these changes will not affect the vehicles in terms of appearance, they will enhance driver comfort and convenience.
First and foremost, the 6 Series lineup will come standard with Wireless Charging and Smartphone Integration. Unfortunately wireless charging will only work on cellular devices capable of induction charging. This means that, as of yet, iPhones are incompatible with this feature. In addition, the 6 Series will have an available Wi-Fi hotspot, which, as far as we know, will have limited data and require an additional subscription for service. Going further, the 10.2 inch iDrive display will be updated to the revision available on the new G12 7 Series. This update means the iDrive display will have a much more modern look, and the lists used on the previous iDrive menu will be replaced by a series of tiles.
These minor equipment updates tie in nicely with the LCI updates to the face of the 6 Series in 2015.
The 6 Series will not be the only car receiving updates this year. For those looking for the perfect all around mid-size vehicle, look no further than the BMW X3 & X4.
Two ehancements to the exterior of both vehicles include the addition of a new light alloy wheel style, as well as the previously unavailable Chestnut Bronze Metallic paint.
On the inside, there will be a new option for BMW Navigation Professional. BMW Navigation Professional will have the updated iDrive display, just like the new 7 Series. In addition, wireless charging will become an option as well.
Although these updates may not seem that significant, they are just what we expected. With all of the major technological advancement in the BMW Iconic Flagship 7 Series, we are excited to see that the other vehicles in our fleet will soon reflect those updates as well.
