Park Ave BMW & Park Ave Acura presented the 5th Annual Rochelle Park Oldies Concert on Thursday, August 13th, 2009.  Past performers include the Happenings, Johnny Maestro & the Brooklyn Bridge and Kenny Vance & the Planotones.  This year the Mahoney Brothers entertained all with their show "Jukebox Heroes" which brought acts from the past back to life and performers from the present right to Rochelle Park!  Park Ave has been the concert's presenting sponsor since the concert was created in 2005 by Ken Kovalcik, of Rochelle Park, for whom the concert is now held in memory of.

In keeping with our long tradition of support, Park Ave BMW will again one of the main sponsors of the Fred d'Elia Ridgewood Run on Monday, May 25th. Each year the Ridgewood Run attracts over 3500 world-class runners and weekend warriors and boasts a 32 year history. Beth Moras, former Ridgewood Run race director notes, "Because of Park Ave BMW's loyalty, support and sponsorship, we've reached world-class status as a running event, which is now hosting this year's USATF-NJ Masters Championship event". "Park Ave BMW has always rooted itself in the various towns and communities where we do business," says Roy Sommerhalter, Sr, owner. "We look forward to this event every year and look forward to offering our congratulations to the winners," Proceeds from the Ridgewood Run are distributed to the Social Services Association, Family Counseling Service, The College Club Fund and various charitable organizations.

The Visual Arts Department's Illustration Class at Westwood High has produced 11 new takes on the BMW Art Car. The students used BMW model cars as their canvases to represent artists from Van Gogh to Lichtenstein.  The student artists as well as their families and teachers assembled at Park Ave BMW on the evening of Wednesday, January 21 for a recognition of their achievements.  Students received gifts from Park Ave BMW as well as BMW of North America for their tremendous efforts.  The original 15 BMW Art Cars are on display at the BMW museum in Munich.

Park Ave BMW attended the 2nd Annual Tri-State E90post.com Bear Mountain Meet. The event took place on Sunday, June 22nd at Bear Mountain Inn. Over 100 people attended, bringing 86 BMW 3 Series to "see and be seen".  Park Ave BMW employees caravaned up to Bear Mountain Inn.  Everyone enjoyed refreshments and food courtesy of Park Ave BMW and enthusiasts shared ideas, info and stories.

A division of the New York, Susquehanna & Western Technical & Historical Society Inc. The purpose of this Committee is to restore the station to its turn-of- the century appearance with the intentions of displaying Maywood town history and railroad history within the building. Their main objective is to restore, revitalize and maintain the historic Victorian Style station. The Maywood train station has received certification of eligibility from the NJ Historical Preservation Office and has been placed on both the New Jersey and National Historical Registers. The station was identified as one of the oldest existing in the State of New Jersey still retaining most of its original character. Park Ave BMW/Park Ave Acura is proud to be a Silver Level Sponsor of the Historical Committee's restoration of the Maywood Train Station.

We teamed up with the National Automotive Dealers Association and Rubber Manufacturers to promote tire care during Annual National Tire Safety Week. To educate motorists, and as an opportunity to improve safety among our customers and within the community, we sponsored free tire pressure and tread wear check at our West Passaic, Maywood location. Attendees enjoyed the free check up, refreshments and gifts.

Park Ave BMW was a participant in the BMW Ultimate Drive supporting Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.  For every mile driven, BMW of North America contributes $1.00 to the foundation. Park Ave BMW was pleased to also contribute $1.00 for each mile driven. This was 10th anniversary of the Drive and Park Ave BMW's involvement toward raising money used for breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment. In addition to light refreshments, a pink enamel ribbon and gift pen with information chart was be given to all participants.
